Thomas Henry INKSON, b: 13 Apr 1856 Kings Lynn, Norfolk
Thomas Henry was the first son of Thomas Harborow b. 16 Dec 1834 and Martha née Garner. As can be read elsewhere on this domain, he was brought up remote from the other 14 of his siblings - his existence didn't even come down the family lore until modern technology made genealogy easier.
At the age of 21 he was in Burnham close to the rest of the family. We know that because the baptism record of Thomas Henry and Emma's first child gives their address as Burnham Ulph in the parish of Burnham Sutton cum Ulph. Thomas Henry is described as an 'inn keeper'. Subsequently they settled in Norwich, the county city of Norfolk, where Thomas Henry started out as a conductor of a horse-drawn omnibus [as per the 1881 census]. Ten years later he had progressed to being a driver of an omnibus, essentially a groom as noted by officialdom on the census record. From there he progressed to owning a cab and bus company. His oldest son was working for him as a driver [groom] in 1901 and in 1911.
We know from the 1911 census that, in total, Thomas Henry and Emma had seven children, one of which died in infancy. It was Mildred Emma, that first child, which died in infancy.
By the time of the 1939 registration, Thomas Henry was living in Thorpe St Andrew, just outside of Norwich, a widower. He died there about three years later.
