JCI served in the RAF during WW2 and thereafter, eventually retiring as WingCo . Before the war was also at sea with Union Castle as Librarian where he met Joan, his future wife, returning from working in South Africa.

JI was a pilot in WW2, mainly training other pilots. Eventually looked after all Southampton based sea-going officers for Union Castle

Alfred Joseph William Inkson and his wife Margaret Shiela nee Ryan both killed in the same car crash. They were visiting the family farm on the Canterbury plain [see note on Peter Anthony Inkson] and had to cross the railway track to get there. The car was struck by a train and they both died although the neices in the back [Catherine Margaret and Sally Kennedy] survived.

Peter still farms the family farm on the Canterbury plain to the north of Christchurch. The farm was originally purchased by his father Paul Anthony and his uncles Alfred William and Bernard Thacker.
