Ernest Alfred DAINTY b. 15 Dec 1902 St George Hanover Square, London
The birth of Ernest Alfred was registered in Q1 1903 in St George Hanover Square registration district but we know from the 1939 registration records that he was actually born on 15 Dec 1902. He was the fourth child [and fourth son] of Harry Dainty and Lottie Garner née Inkson.
He was, of course, living with the family at the time of the 1911 census. It was before they moved to 106 Finborough Road : they were living in Queensberry Mews West, South Kensington. 10 years later, at the time of the 1921 census, the family was at 106 Finborough Road and Ernest Alfred was said to be 18y 6m of age and unemployed.
In 1928 he married Elizabeth Kelly, the marriage being registered in Q3 that year in Kensington registration district. The couple had two children.
At the time of the 1939 registration the couple were living at 166 Finborough Road, close to Harry and Lottie Garner. He is said to be a plumber and it looks as if he was working with a relative of Elizabeth who is living with them. There is also one closed record [it being assumed that that person is still alive] which is presumably one of the children but where is the other?
Elizabeth died on 15 Apr 1952 in St Luke's Hospital, West London. Ernest Alfred died some years later on 23 Dec 1958 in the West London Hospital, Hammersmith.
