Martha Margaret was the first child of George Harborow b. 29 Sep 1873 and Bridget Mary née Keatinge. She was born in Thornham, where George Harborow's parents had settled when they retired from London and some 10km from the 'ancestral home' of Burnham Sutton. Her date of birth is confirmed by the 1939 England Register.

She moved to Southampton with the family in 1922. It is not clear when Pat Duggan came to England from Ireland but he was working in Southampton docks at the time of the 1939 England Register and the two had recently got married.

We knew that Martha Margaret and Pat had one daughter but there is a second child in the records : the birth and death of a Jean B Duggan in Q2 1940. That child was never discussed in the family.
