Emily Mary Booker née Inkson b: reg. Q2 1876 Burnham, Norfolk
Emily Mary was the thirteenth child [ninth to survive to adulthood] of Thomas Harborow b. 16 Dec 1834 and Martha née Garner. At the time that she was born, her father was the station master at Burnham Sutton, a post that he held for many years. Her exact date of birth is not confirmed but one source puts it as 12 Aug 1876. What is confirmed is the date of her baptism : 24 September 1876.
At the time of the 1901 census she was still living at home, aged 24, in Lewisham, London. At that time Thomas George ['George'] Booker, her future husband, was also living at home [in this case with his grandmother and mother so perhaps his father had died] in Deptford, just 2.5km north of Lewisham. They married in September 1904 in Thornham, Norfolk, where Emily Mary's parents then lived after retiring.
At the time of the 1911 census the family were living in Folkestone, Kent but in the 1921 census George and Emily are shown to be living in New Cross, not far from where George used to live, with their two daughters.
