Dorothy Maude HUBBARD née Plumb b. 13 Jul 1899 Greenwich, London
Dorothy Maude was a child of Thomas Plumb and his wife Alice Walters née Inkson, so a descendent of the 1801 Inkson - Harborow marriage through William and then Thomas Harborow Inkson. There is a baptism record which gives her date of birth in 1899 but in the 1939 England Register she is said to have been born the same day but 1898. [Intriguingly, she was baptised at the age of 14 as part of a large group of adolescent / adult baptisms all on the same day.]
She married Ernest George Hubbard in 1921 in Lewisham. Little is known about him [there are several possible men with the same name born at around the right time]. In 1938 he and Dorothy Maude were living in Woolwich but by the time of the 1939 England Register Dorothy Maude is in Deal, Kent living with a three year old called Betty Hubbard and Ernest George is not with them [which does not mean anything in particular]. A family note suggests that Betty was an adopted daughter.
There is no family group page available but if you want to delve deeper then Kim Hunt's tree, 'The Joyces and the Plumbs' on ancestry.com will help you.
