As we have seen above, the 1939 Register was much more than a snapshot of the population in September that year : it was used as a master document for decades to come as women married and hence their surnames changed. As a result, there are a lot more entries indexed as 'Inkson' than show above. They are the future brides of Inkson men. One example is Janet B Macpherson who was living with her family on September 29 1939 but went on to marry Cyril G I... in 1940 so is indexed as Janet B Macpherson and Janet B Inkson.
